Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC)

This Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) training course provides employees with the knowledge needed to prevent oil spills, respond effectively to releases, and protect people, property, and the environment. The course covers the requirements of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) SPCC Rule, the purpose of facility SPCC plans, and the roles and responsibilities of employees in preventing and reporting oil spills.

Participants will learn to identify potential sources of oil spills, understand secondary containment requirements, recognize proper storage and handling practices, and implement spill prevention measures during routine operations. The training also covers spill response procedures, notification and reporting requirements, inspection and maintenance of oil storage equipment, spill cleanup fundamentals, and the importance of following site-specific SPCC plans and emergency response procedures. Emphasis is placed on environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and minimizing the impact of accidental oil discharges.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to recognize common spill hazards, understand the key components of an SPCC program, identify appropriate spill prevention and response measures, and follow safe work practices that support EPA compliance while helping to protect employees, surrounding communities, and the environment.
