Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

This Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training course provides employees with the knowledge needed to understand the importance of PPE in preventing workplace injuries and illnesses. The course covers OSHA requirements for PPE, hazard assessments, the selection and proper use of protective equipment, and each employee’s responsibility for maintaining a safe work environment.

Participants will learn how to identify workplace hazards that require PPE, select the appropriate equipment for specific tasks, and properly inspect, don, use, remove, clean, and maintain PPE. The training covers common types of PPE, including eye and face protection, head protection, hearing protection, respiratory protection, hand protection, foot protection, and high-visibility clothing. The course also discusses the limitations of PPE and emphasizes that it should be used in conjunction with engineering and administrative controls as part of a comprehensive safety program.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to recognize when PPE is required, select and use the appropriate protective equipment, understand its limitations, and follow safe work practices that support OSHA compliance and help reduce the risk of workplace injuries.
